Almost all of our art assets for the game are done! I am going to take the rest of my time here to better my skills at 3D modeling as I have improved well in my 2D skills. This week, I added some full cakes to my 3D bakery scene, and worked on the shading and bevels on the edges of my fridge. I also added a cute little tip jar!
Math: Geometry (3D Geometrical Relationships)-
To do this, I used bevels to round the edges of my fridge. Beveling involves adjusting the angles and edges of a shape so they look more realistic instead of sharp and flat. This helped me understand how to control the curves and corners of 3D objects.
Math: Number and Quantity (Vectors)-
While adding materials to my scene, I experimented with transparency and transmission settings in Blender. I used these settings to make the fridge glass slightly see-through, like real glass. I had to adjust how much light passes through the material and how it bends, which involves thinking about values between 0 and 1 to control how transparent or reflective the surface is. This helped me understand how numbers and sliders affect the way light and objects interact in a 3D space.
