This week we are continuing to polish our game. To do this, We are constsntly having game reviews from Mr. Compton and improving faults that he finds. To increase our dependancy, we are only coming to him once a week and fixing all the issues brought up in meetings in the time between reviews. At the moment, I am continuing to make more tilemap assets to add into the tutorial to have more variety in the level. In addition, I am also learning how to make grass and dirt tile sets for the upcoming level.
Numbers-
When working with a tile map, it is important to pay attention to the resolution and positioning in objects. Since the resolution that we are using for the tiles is 16x16, I must try to fit my assets in boxes of 16x16. I am using Aesprite to make my assets which allows me to view a grid of 16x16 so I can see where the positioning will be for the designers who make the level.
Geometry-
To keep the items in scale with the character, I bring in the character png to the file I am working on beside the new assets. Sometimes, The sizes do not match up the way I would like them to (Beds are too big, cabenits are too small, etc.). To fix this, I am able to scale transform my work and stretch and shrink to work in order to make the size relationship between the asset and the character more realistic.
