Week of October 7-10 (Game Art and Sunblink Shadowing)

This week I remade out two samurais and made a new enemy called a jikininki. They all hve idle, walk and attack animations that are now included in the game. In addition, I worked on a basic inventory system UI artwork for us to use.

On Wednesday I had a shadowing experience with Sunblink Game Studio. I got a chance to see real time work on a commercial game. It was a very eye opening experince that makes me even more exited to work on games that will be shared ith the world. I shadowed Joe Carney, a VFX artist for the Hello Kitty Island Adventure game. I was able to sit in and watch him work on a few animations and see how meetings in the game industry are held. I would like to shadow some more people in the industry and see how a designer, environmental artist, character artist etc., and see how their work day differs.

Mathematics-

Number and Quantity (Vectors)

This week I used Number and quantity by using division to size down the scale of pixels in my main character. Because we wanted a simpler character with bigger pixels, I needed ti size down the canvas from around 30x50 to 15x24.

Algebra and Functions

While making my animatio for the enemy in our game, I needed to make the attack speed of the monster much slower. To do this, I decreased the amount of frames per second in the flip book to make the animation play slower, therefore making the monster attack slower.
